HARBOR MOON is a treat for the senses -- and a shock to them. It's a horror tale conveyed through an intoxicating incense haze.
Ryan and Dikran... craft an economic, fever-dream narrative that evokes the hallucinatory mood of an Alan Rudolph film. Pawel's art dances, blurs and spatters from dusty palates to cyalume night greens while strong sepias and florescent blues simultaneously contrast thick darknesses.
Although set against the backdrop of a foreboding Maine hamlet, they 180 the stranger-in-a-strange-place tale with doses of Old West redemption. The jarring juxtaposition guarantees that HARBOR MOON's expected genre twists won't be the only images washing around in your mind for a long, long time.
